Proton Exchange Membrane (Pem) electrolyzer

A Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyzer is a device that splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity while keeping the two gases separate behind a thin solid polymer sheet. This membrane conducts positively charged hydrogen ions but blocks electrons and liquid water, allowing the anode and cathode to stay chemically isolated even as the reaction proceeds at high rates.

The importance of this technology lies in its ability to turn renewable electricity into clean hydrogen with relatively low losses and rapid start‑up times.
